How It’s Made

PURITY: We use archival pens, acid-free paper, and alcohol ink markers. The markers will give a similar look to watercolor, except one important difference – we use isopropyl alcohol instead of water. The isopropyl alcohol dries quickly and will preserve the purity of the color, where as watercolor dries slowly and will dilute the color. The result is vibrant, lively colors to capture your perfectly personalized home portrait.

PHOTOGRAPHY: We work from photographs and/or construction documents! Take at least 3 different photos of your home….front, left, and right are always great. For those unique architectural features that you love, take a close-up! We will be sure to feature the love. Photos can be taken any time of year, though a sunny day is always best.

PERSONALIZATION: With every project, you choose the season, choose the sky, and option to add your pets! The seasons may come and go, but the beauty of art is it can be whatever you want it to be! We have streamlined this into 3 easy steps, as shown below. Remember, if this gets overwhelming, we can always brainstorm together.

Perfectly Personalized

Step 1

Spring is blooming in rich green foliage and colorful blossoms.

Fall is glowing with all the warm, earthy tones that light up the trees, and the earth.

Winter is full of colorful lights that are magic in the snow’s reflection.

Step 3

Cats, dogs, cows, foxes…what will you choose to make your house drawing perfectly personalized? This is the opportunity to include a happy soul who also calls this house, home. Sometimes the happy souls aren’t even invited, like these possums! Take a look at the home portrait below…
